Sell on MU, with halal you can prove

From 18 October 2026, halal certification also becomes mandatory for food and drink from micro and small businesses in Indonesia. On MU, buyers see your certificate right away.8

Why sellers choose MU

  • Verified halal certificate

A moderator checks the certificate in SIHALAL. The badge disappears automatically when the certificate expires.

  • Money held, then paid out

Buyers pay MU, and the money is passed on once the order is confirmed as received.

  • ID only when needed

An ID card is only requested to start selling or to withdraw funds, and is deleted after verification.

Start a shop in four steps

  1. Shop name and address

A shop starts as a draft. Names that refer to prohibited items are refused.

  2. Where you ship from

Where you send from, for honest shipping costs.

  3. Shipping and returns

Clear return rules before the buyer pays.

  4. Add your halal certificate

A moderator checks it in SIHALAL. Your products then carry the Verified halal badge.

What it costs, in plain words

MU earns a platform fee on sales. The fee is always shown in the all-in price, so nothing surprises you or your buyer at checkout. The rate is not final yet: we publish it before the first real sale, and we do not promise any figure here.

Payments in the app currently run in test mode. Production payment accounts are being prepared for the launch.

Questions sellers ask

Do I need a halal certificate to sell?

From 18 October 2026 halal certification becomes mandatory in Indonesia for food and drink from micro and small businesses. On MU, the Verified halal badge only appears on products with a certificate that a moderator has checked in SIHALAL.

How do I get paid?

Buyers pay MU, and the money is passed on once the order is confirmed as received. An ID card is only requested to start selling or to withdraw funds, and is deleted after verification.

Will adverts appear in MU?

MU shows adverts only from halal businesses, services and products, always labelled as adverts, never to teen accounts and never based on private messages.

Who sets shipping and return rules?

You do. You choose where you ship from, so shipping costs are honest, and you set return rules that buyers see before they pay.

Can I sell today?

Not yet. The marketplace runs as a beta with sample data and payments are in test mode. Tell us you want to sell and we will get back to you before the launch.
